Platform Overview
Testbirds offers crowd-based software testing, especially for mobile phone apps and mobile websites. The company is based in Germany and has subsidiaries in England, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Hungary, and clients worldwide. They offer a wide range of software testing services, including “exploratory bug testing”, test case execution and creation; localization, regression, and performance testing; usability evaluation; and project consulting.

Testbirds was founded in 2011. In 2015, they led the initial development of the Crowdsourcing Code of Conduct.

Testbirds does not act as an intermediary matching customers and workers but rather charges customers directly for services and organizes workers themselves. Their website lists prices for frequently used services such as a self-service exploratory bug test with 20 testers (£ 1550) and a self-service usability test with 20 testers (£ 3100).[1]

Work Process
Workers register their demographic and device information with Testbirds and are notified when a task is available for them. (Tasks are made available to people with the necessary demographic characteristics and devices algorithmically.) Once notified, workers are free to accept or ignore the task.
